Step 1:

Contact Amanda. I cannot help you unless you ask. You can call me, email me, or schedule your first appointment online.

Step 2:

Divorce Mediation Orientation. The orientation is for both spouses. In the orientation, we will discuss your situation, what divorce mediation is, how it works, and how much it costs. I will also answer any questions you have about the process. Not sure how to get your spouse there? I have an article to help you with this.

Step 3:

Hire me and schedule our first session. The first session is our Getting Started Meeting. This meeting has two purposes:1) to set the groundwork for our other sessions; 2) to make sure that you have temporary agreements in place that will get you through the mediation process.

Step 4:

Now it is time to roll up our sleeves and work out your agreements. Each mediation session lasts approximately 2 hours and is dedicated to a specific legal issue. We will work together to resolve all of your divorce issues, including but not limited to, parenting plans, property division, debt payment, and support. You can expect to attend at least three mediation sessions if you have children and at least two if you do not have children.

Step 5:

Judgment session.  Once you have reached a complete agreement, I will prepare the Divorce Judgment paperwork and meet with you one last time to review the agreements you have made.

Step 6:

Your final task in the process is to take your divorce judgment to an attorney who will review it with you and explain how the judgment affects your legal rights.  After this review,  you sign off on the divorce judgment and return it to me. My office processes your Divorce Judgment through the court system so you never have to step foot inside a courthouse.
